Michelle
comes to massage by way of her own healing. She first experienced
the power of conscious touch while in the hospital, after a severe
auto accident left her with a broken neck. She deepened her understanding
of therapeutic touch over the following year, while working with
various massage and physical therapists to further her recovery.
Throughout this experience Michelle gained a great appreciation
for a variety of touch therapies and felt deeply compelled to pursue
a career in bodywork. In 2003 Michelle received her initial massage
certification through the Massage Therapy Institute in Davis, California
where she completed a 1000 hour certification program.
Michelle decided to relocate to Seattle in January 2005, and after
passing the exams to meet Washington States requirements for licensure,
she began her own practice in Seattle's Eastlake area. In March
of 2010, Michelle, along with her colleague Tara Hoch, opened up
The Radiant Body in the thriving Capitol Hill area. Michelle truly
enjoys being a part of the healing journey of others and is dedicated
to her own personal and professional growth in order to bring the
best to her clients.
Michelle is an active member of the Associate Bodywork and Massage
Professionals (ABMP), a nationwide organization that maintains professional
standards for the bodywork profession. ABMP members are recognized
as professional bodywork providers, and maintain a strict ethical
code based on professionalism, respect for the client, honesty in
advertising, and commitment to "in no way instigate or tolerate
any kind of sexual advance while acting in the capacity of a bodywork
practitioner."
